Ergonomic Mount for Telephoto Camera
The challenge: to enable the use of a very long Soviet super-telephoto lens, together with a pair of extension tubes, to give a 1200mm capability to a basic digital SLR.
First, an armature was constructed to carry the camera, with a foregrip supporting the lens.
Secondly, wooden furniture was added to help with ergonomics.
The wooden furniture was distressed and patinated to match the age of the lens.
For extra stability and a 3rd Point Of Contact, a pair of locking plates were added….
…Into which a short-length shoulder stock could be connected.
